About the Author  

Kasey is the mother of two children, and a former elementary school teacher.  She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a degree in Sociology and African Studies and holds a master’s degree from Boston College in Elementary Education. As a leader of creative writing workshops, Kasey has inspired hundreds of school-aged children to write and capture their thoughts and feelings on paper.  She had the privilege of leading adult writers in her workshops, The Write to Heal.  Kasey is currently training as a Reiki volunteer in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and working toward becoming a Reiki Master. She is an active member of a women’s writing group, as well as two reading groups.  Her bedside table and bookshelves are overflowing with her beloved books. 

When not writing, Kasey loves read to her children, walk through the woods surrounding her old home with Meg, her English Mastiff, or roll out her yoga mat for her daily meditation practice. Thirteen years ago, when Kasey agreed to love, honor and ski with her husband, Lee she envisioned ski vacations in Vail.  Instead, she spends every winter weekend on slalom courses all over New England, watching her incredible kids whiz by.
